There are still months to go but already the Citizen inbox has been filled with nominations for the Pride in Milton Keynes Awards.

Robert Stones name has been put forward for two awards with nominations in both the Care in the Community and the Unsung Hero/Heroine categories.

His nominator said: “Robert has gone beyond the normal parameters in working pro-actively for the community in Central Milton Keynes.”

“In the last few years Robert has set up and run a residents’ association, given help and support to people living in the centre of the city and helped to lead a team to get £60,000 of funding for a play area in North 9th and North 10th Street.

“He is often steam cleaning the 11 bin cupboards in the area as well as digging the gardens, all of which he does off his own back and for free.”

So many people across the city do amazing things for other people on a daily basis and they need your nominations so their hard work can be justified and recognised.

You can vote in a number of categories including Making MK Safer, Excellence in Education, Service with a Smile, Care in the Community and Fundraiser of the Year.

If you would like to nominate a group or individual who makes you feel proud to live or work in Milton Keynes visit our website at www2.miltonkeynestoday.co.uk/pride2013 and tell us about them and why you feel they deserve to be in with a chance of winning. The awards are held in October.
