BUSINESSES across the city have joined together with Milton Keynes Council and the emergency services to create the Central Milton Keynes Evacuation Plan.
The plan was launched at The Jury’s Inn on Thursday, with around 100 representatives from businesses across Central Milton Keynes coming together to familiarise themselves with it and also learn how they, as a responsible business, can prepare themselves for any unforeseen event.
Chief Superintendent at Thames Valley Police, Barry Halliday, commended the plan and said he was proud to be part of a city which could work together on such an important issue.
He said: “The Evacuation Plan is not a new concept. In fact I was involved in the writing of such a plan back in 1995 for Milton Keynes.
“This new refreshed, updated plan takes into account advances in technology and communication and is a joint approach by all partners in Milton Keynes to ensure we are match fit for any incident which may arise.”
