The neighbourhood policing team in West Bletchley is holding a crime reduction event on Thursday to help people protect their property against thieves.
The event will take place at the Melrose Avenue Resource Centre (MARC), next to Tesco Express, Melrose Avenue, Bletchley, between 9am and 3pm.
Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Chris Nicholls said: “We have arranged this event because there have recently been several thefts of pedal cycles in the area, as well as property stolen from cars.
“Everyone is welcome to come along and have their bikes and other valuable belongings such as mobile phones marked with their postcode, helping to deter thieves and making the items more likely to be returned if they are ever stolen.
“Phone marking is free, but we will charge £4.50 for bike marking. This is good value, as the marking kits cost £14 each in the shops.
“We will also be providing general crime prevention advice to members of the public. We will be combining this event with a ‘Have Your Say’ meeting, and there will also be tea and coffee available, so please come along and meet your neighbourhood team.”
