BROOKLANDS Farm Primary School is set to be expanded and a project costing £1.8 million has already started.
Members of staff, pupils and councillors joined the construction team from Morgan Sindall at a special ceremony before Christmas for a traditional sod cutting ceremony.
The extension will give the school more teaching and learning space, with two new floors. The car park will also be expanded for another 30 cars.
The project is due to be completed in August of next year before the start of the new school term.
