A city father and son team are cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats for Willen Hospice.

Shenley Brook End student Tom Wallond, 16, and father Richard reached Scotland after two weeks of cycling on their cross-country journey.

The duo has made previous fundraising cycle rides, biking 50 miles in 1 day in 2008 and biking 100 miles in two days the year after.

Tom said in his school newsletter: “This year we have decided to do step it up a bit. The route we are taking is 1,000 miles long.”
