A LANDLORD who was fatally stabbed at The Globe pub in Hanslope was trying to break up a fight between a brother and sister.

The inquest into the death of Jaime Ball was opened on Monday at the Civic Offices and heard that he was in the middle of a fight between his partner Emma Durantes and her brother Bernardo.

Mr Durantes, who lives in Hartwell Road, Hanslope, appeared at Luton Crown Court on January 4 and was remanded in custody before his next appearance in February.

The original incident took place on December 28 last year when Mr Ball was rushed to Milton Keynes Hopsital after receiving stab wounds.

He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at hospital.

After the initial inquest on Friday proceedings were adjourned but there will now be a full inquiry into the incident held later in the year.
