A three-year-old girl sparked a drama in the city centre when she became wedged behind a metal safety railing.

Firefighters were called to rescue the tot outside the Royal Bank of Scotland at the food centre on Tuesday. She was stuck in the eight inch gap behind the rail, which is designed to stop shopping trolleys from hitting the windows.

A crew from Broughton managed to prise her out unharmed – and gave her stickers for being brave.
