MORE than 40 firefighters from three different crews were called to a huge fire in Bletchley this morning (Friday).
Crews from Bletchley, Broughton and Great Holm were called to Park Gardens, off Whalley Drive, shortly before 5am, along with specialist appliances from Broughton and Aylesbury.
Station Manager, Tim Parkins, said: “The first crews to arrive found a well-developed fire in the roof of an unoccupied single-storey building comprising two bungalows. Firefighters have managed to limit most of the damage to one half of the building.”
Part of Whalley Drive was closed for around three hours because of the number of emergency service vehicles at the scene.
Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service and Thames Valley Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.
The roof was 70 per cent damaged by fire, with the ground floor suffering 40 per cent damage from smoke and water.
