FIRE UPDATE: Neighbours take in families as they watch their homes go up in flames

Families were evacuated from their homes in Monkston Park after a raging fire broke out this morning.

The blaze caused the roof to cave in as firefighters battled the flames that took hold of three homes in Finsbury Chase.

One person is currently in the care of the ambulance service and being checked over by paramedics. Their condition is unknown.

Neighbours say they took in three families whose homes were affected.

One said: “Three families live in that block of houses. They’ve been taken in by neighbours. We’re a tight-knit bunch around here.”

Crews from Bletchley, Broughton and Great Holm arrived at the scene at at around 8.20am with three fire engines and a turntable ladder.
