The sell out event will see the winners in 14 categories announced, following months of voting which has since more than 1,000 votes submitted.

The awards will honour the best restaurants, pubs, hotels, chefs, gyms and destinations in the city. Its remit goes beyond simple food and drink with gongs up for grabs for the best waiter or waitress, best hotel and the top attraction.

Cook-off contests have already taken place in the Chef of the Year and Asian/Indian Chef of the Year categories, with the results of these also set to be announced on Sunday.

The gala night will see students from De Vere Academy of Hospitality acting as waiters and waitresses. Based at Harben House in Newport Pagnell, the academy trains 16-24 year olds to be the hospitality stars of the future. More information can be found at www.devereacademy.co.uk

And the awards are bound to have a sweet ending when sponsors Krispy Kreme hand guests a special goody bag at the end of the evening.

There will also be a bumper raffle with money going to mkfm and Milton Keynes Food Bank.

Results from the evening will be published on the Milton Keynes Citizen website on Monday morning, as well as in the Citizen on Thursday, May 17. People can also follow @Citizen_CraigL during the event, which starts at 6.30pm, for live tweet updates on all the winners and other news at the gala event.
