Richard Solly, Head of Community Safety in Milton Keynes, was honoured yesterday evening at the Thames Valley Police LPA Commander’s Commendation Awards event.

The Commander herself, Superintendent Nikki Ross, presented the award to Richard – a Lifetime Achievement Award.

This was especially appropriate as Richard will retire in November from Milton Keynes Council after a lifetime of public service.

Richard has influenced innumerable local and national initiatives and as Superintendent Ross said in the citation: “Richard has a reputation for being a man of great honesty and courage, and this, together with his passion and his total commitment has made Milton Keynes a safer place to live, work and play.”
