Forget Brexit -there are European grants up for grabs in Milton Keynes!

Almost £1m worth of grants is up for grabs for local job projects - thanks to the European Social Fund.

Despite Brexit, the fund has joined forces with the Skills Funding Agency to offer cash to voluntary and community groups in Milton Keynes and the rest of the south East Midlands area.

Grants are between £5,000 and £20,000 and are specifically for projects that help engage and progress ‘hard to reach’ individuals towards the labour market.

Groups eligible to apply must be based in the SEMLEP (South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership) area, and they must have an annual turnover of less than £300,000.

The types of projects this funding can support include those that offer help with basic skills, job search assistance, training, advice and counselling and confidence building,

Applications open for the first round of funding opened this week and closes on Tuesday August 2.

The grants, which are being managed by Futures Advice Skills and Employment, will be allocated during the week commencing Monday, 15th August 2016.
