FOUR passengers were taken to hospital with minor injuries after two buses collided close to the city railway station this morning, (Tues).
The accident happened at about 10.50am and the road at the bottom of Midsummer Boulevard and Elder Gate was closed. Firefighters from Great Holm and Broughton worked with paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service to release one of the passengers.
Crew Manager Malcolm Chalk from Great Holm Fire Station said: “We carefully and gently manoeuvred a woman who was sitting in the front seat nearest the door of one of the buses, which was behind the other bus, so that she could be taken to hospital.”
The road has since re-opened.
