A WOMAN was airlifted to hospital with suspected internal injuries after a crash on the A509.
The crash happened at about 11am on Monday and involved a blue Vauxhall Astra and a Hyundai Santa. A silver Ford Transit van also suffered slight damage.
In total four people were injured in the crash with the 61-year-old driver of the Hyundai, Lyn Pearson, suffering minor cuts and bruises. The 18-year-old driver of the Astra received cuts to his knees and his 43-year-old front seat passenger was airlifted to John Radcliffe hospital with suspected internal injuries. She has since been discharged from hospital.
A 15-year-old girl who was in the back of the Astra suffered a broken collarbone and abdominal injuries. She was also later released from hospital.
Speaking after the accident Lyn said: “Everybody was very helpful and kind. I would like to thank the lady who remained with me until the arrival of the emergency services, who was comforting and reassuring.”
Eyewitness Martin Jeeves, who snapped the picture on the left, said: “The helicopter flew very close to our house so we went out and saw the aftermath, it was chaos.”
