FRIENDS and colleagues of the late Jim Marshall gathered at Ye Olde Swan in Woughton on the Green on Thursday, to raise a glass to the man who had inspired so many.
Jim lived in the village and had his own table in the pub, which he would visit weekly.
Jim’s chauffeur Steve Wood said: “It was a way of celebrating Jim’s life and getting together the people who had different connections with him.
“It was really nice to be able to talk about, and celebrate the wonderful, generous man behind the amplifier.”
And when it came to toasting Jim’s remarkable life, the drink of choice was easy – a bottle of Jim’s own Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
A private family funeral was held for the founder of Marshalls’ on Friday.
