THE very best food and leisure venues across the city were honoured at a glitzy ceremony last night.
The winners of the inaugural Milton Keynes Food & Leisure Awards, backed by Milton Keynes Citizen, were announced at a gala awards night at The Swan in Milton Keynes Village.
The sell-out event honoured the best restaurants, pubs, hotels, chefs, gyms and destinations in MK. Its remit goes beyond simple food and drinks with gongs also announced for the best waiter or waitress, best hotel and best apartments.
Mark Austin from The Swan, Salford won the night’s big prize by scooping the Best Chef award, beating off the challenge of second placed Terry Pritchard from Chitcheley Hall.
The prestigious Best Restaurant gong was won by the Crooked Billet, while the Best Bar was named as The Living Room.
A full list of winners can be found below.
The event was compered by Chris Gregg from MKFM, while students from De Vere Academy of Hospitality acted as waiters and waitresses and guests were treated to a special goody bag from Krispy Kreme at the end of the evening.
Singers Scott Finley and Ellie Antonini from Real Music MK provided entertainment during the night, while a bumper raffle raised £1,035 for The Food Bank.
