People interested in martial arts and healthy living are invited to a special expo next weekend.
Presented by Kwoklyn Wan, whose brother is style God Gok, the Healthy Living Expo will pair with the Martial Arts Expo at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on October 19 and 20.
The weekend will feature a host of special guests. Gok will be signing his new cook book, Gok’s Wok and other guests include former cage fighter Alex Reid, MMA fighter Judo Jimmy Wallhead, Radio 2 and One Show regular Dr Sarah Jarvis and many more.
People can enjoy a number of interactive areas where some of the biggest names in martial arts will be holding group training sessions, Q&A sessions and opportunities for autographs and photos.
Event director, Jon Irwin, said: “We are delighted with the response to the event, especially with the government trying to encourage people to take more responsibility for their health and wellbeing.
The Activity Zone has lots going on, with a whole bunch of sessions where you can get stuck including Tai Chi or dancing yourself fit Bollywood style The Yoga zone is yet another feature at the event. Giving the opportunity to those who would like to “give it a go” through to the initiated, it will certainly have something to interest people of all levels. Sessions will be run with the likes of Rashmi Fulchand, Art of Living teacher and an Ayurveda Therapist through Sun Power Yoga to Yogi Ashokananda running sessions (Saturday only), and they will also be available on their stands to answer your questions.
Presentations include everything from Dr. Sarah Jarvis’ presentation, ‘Diet, Lifestyle and Healthy Living – letting the facts get in the way of a good headline’ through Dr Marilyn Graham’s ‘Fat Around The Middle’. There are presentations on ‘Colonic Health’ to ‘An Introduction To Meditation’. If you have ever wondered what meditation is about, this is your chance to sit in on a free presentation, then join in a practical session later in the day, led by expert Hugh Poulton.
Jill Gardner (The Fat Controller - who is from Milton Keynes) and Sophia Kupse (The Muscle Whisper) will both be at the Show on both days and more information can be had from www.healthylivingexpo.co.uk
Irwin said: “The free seminars are important because people are becoming less passive about their health now, actively looking for advice and ways to achieve a better lifestyle; whether it’s better nutrition and eating, exercise & weight loss or mental wellbeing.”
Gok will be at the show on Sunday to sign copies of his new book.
