THIS Saturday evening, ditch the television (there’s nowt on now The Bridge has finished anyway) and go shake those tail feathers, at the anticipated relaunch of Dollar Shake, writes Sammy Jones.
The promotion which is a little bit rock and a little bit roll, has moved venues though.
No longer will Theatre District haunt The Slug & Lettuce oversee proceedings – now the music will sound loud down the road at The Buszy, on Eldergate, which is great news for those of you wanting to enjoy a drink or two and head back to Bletchley or Wolverton – you can just cross the road and hop on the train.
No more arguing about who will be spending the night nursing a lemonade while everyone else makes the most of the cheap drinks offers, then!
Resident DJs will be ready and waiting, and when doors open at 9pm, they’ll start spinning.
‘An eclectic mix of popular and underground Rockabilly, Rock n Roll, Swing, Jump & Jive and Ska from the 1940s to the 1960s’ will fill the air through to kicking out time, which is at 2am.
Have you got the retro garb, but can’t quite ‘rock’ the look?
Don’t sweat it – organisers are setting up a vintage hair parlour on the night too, with Sarah from Bedford hairdressers Doo Wop Hair making your tresses look vintage.
How cool is that?
There are free shots (the wet kind, not the gun types) for the early birds through the doors, as well.
Although the lure of the dance floor will prove hard to resist, there will be time to chill too, with the big screen showing some classic old movie action...grab some popcorn and enjoy.
Entry is a snip (just like Doo Wop Hair) for the over 18s bash, at just £2.
