People can now download two charity singles that have been specially composed for a fundraising event taking place in February.

The songs, As One and Get Up and Sign, will be sung during SignHealth’s sign2sing fundraising world record attempt on February 5 and are now available to download from iTunes.

Linda Petrons, Events and Corporate Fundraiser at SignHealth, which is the national healthcare charity for deaf people, said: “sign2sing is our annual world record breaking attempt for the most people singing and signing on the same day and we are really excited to be releasing two new songs, which have been specially written for next year’s event.

“The songs, which have been written, performed and produced by Tom and Pippa Gearing, Sarah Lindsey and James Hawkins from Bottle Top Music Productions, are available on iTunes.

“Each song costs 99p to download and the money raised from the sale of the tracks will be donated to SignHealth. We hope lots of people from Milton Keynes will help raise money for us by downloading the songs.”

sign2sing is also a fundraiser for SignHealth through a suggested £1 donation from everyone taking part.

Linda said: “We will be asking children and adults alike to wear a scarf like our official mascot, Olli the monkey, on the day of sign2sing and donate their £1. Alternatively, people can hold fundraising events, such as a cake sale, coffee morning, non-uniform or dress down day or a raffle.”

The money will be used to continue the charity’s work helping to improve the mental and physical health and well-being of deaf children and adults.

People from Milton Keynes wishing to take part are invited to sign up now by visiting www.sign2sing.org.uk and clicking on the ‘register now’ link.
