Getting around Milton Keynes is made easier with Arriva

Members of Milton Keynes Youth Cabinet and Arriva celebrated the introduction of reduced prices for the all-in-1 travel card with a prize-giving ceremony.

The all-in-1 card provides discounted travel for young people aged between five and 19 in Milton Keynes with journeys available across MK for as little as 68 pence if purchasing a 4-weekly ticket.

Young people who applied for an all-in-1 card during September and October were entered into a prize draw. Arriva and Milton Keynes Council held a ceremony at the Civic Offices on November 5 to provide lucky winners with iPad minis and hundreds of pounds worth of shopping vouchers.

Applications for all-in-1 cards have increased by more than ten per cent on the same period in 2015.

MKYCAB member and Member of UK Youth Parliament Milton Keynes North, Amber Saunders, said: “We are really pleased that the all-in-1 card is making public transport cheaper again. In providing flat fares at £1 and providing the 4 week pass, young people can have more independence as well as affordable bus travel.

“This also signifies that communication between Arriva and the MK youth cabinet are improving and so we hope to work with Arriva in the future in providing strong public transport for young people.”

Arriva Area Managing Director (Shires), Maq Alibhai, added: “We’re delighted to be working with the youth cabinet and part of promoting bus travel for young people in Milton Keynes as a low cost, environmentally friendly way to travel.”

“I met with the youth cabinet early this year and recognised that the young people in Milton Keynes were very keen to access public transport, and with feedback from young bus users in the area, we agreed on a price structure that would be affordable and simple to understand.”

“In reducing congestion and reducing the cost of travel the growth in application of the all-in-1 card is great news for everyone in Milton Keynes.”

The all-in-1 card offers single junior tickets for £1; weekly tickets for £8.50 and 4-weekly tickets for £27. It can be bought online with the Arriva app.
