Cancer Research UK and Chiki Ceramiki Ltd are joining forces with the ladies of Milton Keynes to raise funds for breast cancer research.
Event organiser, Jacqui Richardson, said: “Most people will know someone affected by cancer at some point in their lives and the impact of the diagnosis and treatment is life shattering for all involved. Having a close friend or family member affected by cancer really makes you want to take action, to help raise money and help support research into treatments.”
Keen to raise funds, Jacqui approached local ‘paint your own pottery’ business owner, Siobhan Harper, of Chiki Ceramiki Ltd. “Jacqui and I both wanted to do something that was both fun, relevant and beneficial for the cause so I was delighted when we came up with the idea of a ‘breast’ inspired pottery painting evening.
Some great samples have already been created with breast prints being subtly transformed into cupcakes, cartoon figures and a variety of animals to name but a few possible designs! I think it’s a first for Milton Keynes and I know it will be great fun.”
The evening, being held at Chiki Ceramiki in Oxley Park on 24th March, will include drinks, nibbles and breast prints on a platter which the guests can then decorate to create their own unique masterpiece. The finished pieces will then be on display to the public at the MK Gallery on Sunday, April 8.
Tickets (£25 per person inclusive) must be purchased in advance, places are limited.
