A 14-year-old girl was robbed as she walked with a friend close to Eaglestone on Thursday.

At around 9.10pm the girl was walking with a friend towards Eaglestone on the Four Bridges overbridge between Leadenhall and Eaglestone when a man ran up to them and grabbed them.

The teenager’s friend managed to get away but the offender put his hand over the girl’s mouth and demanded her BlackBerry phone which she gave him.

The offender then ran off, picked up a BMX style bike and rode off on it in the direction of Oldbrook.

The offender is white, in his early twenties, around 5ft 8ins tall with brown hair, bushy eyebrows and a big nose. He was wearing a black baseball cap, dark coloured trousers and black gloves. He spoke with a local accent.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the offence, recognises the description of the offender, or who saw the offender in the area around the time of the incident.

Witnesses can call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
