The organiser of a race night in aid of two charities has thanked those who helped make it possible.

Gio Strawbridge and friend Angela Fretten organised the event which was held at MK Rugby Club in Emerson Valley recently.

It raised around £2,000 for Willen Hospice and Army of Angels.

Mr Strawbridge, of Crownhill, thanked the store manager at Wolverton Tesco, Graham Barnes, for providing all the food for the event and four magnums of Moet Champagne to raffle on the evening.

He said: “Without the help of people like Graham, events like this wouldn’t always be possible.”

Army of Angels is a charity which helps wounded soldiers while Willen Hospice provides specialist palliative care.

A Halloween charity ball is being held on October 31 in aid of Cancer Research and Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Mr Strawbridge hopes it will raise £5,000.
