Members of Milton Keynes Model Railway Society proudly showed off the fruits of their labours – a year after moving to new premises.
Supporters of the society attended a special event to celebrate the group’s first anniversary in its new home – 12 months after moving out of Bletchley Park which wassubject to ongoing restoration work.
Since then the group has gone from strength to strength with more visitors to their last exhibition than ever before and the announcement of their next open day which will be held on February 15.
Visitors to their new base at Barton Road, Bletchley, will be treated to more than 40 new layouts created by the society, which is run entirely by a big team of volunteers. Support for their work has come from big names in the rail industry including Network Rail .
A spokesman said: “When MKMRS was required to quit its home of 18 years at Bletchley Park the society faced an uncertain future.
“The club has been a home to railway modelling since 1969 and a valuable asset to the local community.
“Fortunately we found new facilities and last November moved into our present home within the MK Two Business Centre.”
