SOUTH Central Ambulance Service are stressing the importance of hand washing in the run up to winter.

The SCAS are promoting general hand hygiene as an effective way of preventing the transfer of bacteria and sickness. Just washing your hands with soap and water can stop the spreading of E.coli, influenza and colds by removing dirt and bacteria from your hands that can be transferred onto food, mobile phones and shopping bags. As more people begin their Christmas shopping, the transfer of bacteria is a greater risk.
