MEN in sheds have shed their inhibitions to become a bustling part of the community in Kiln Farm.
The ‘Shedders’ are all older men who responded to an appeal from Age UK earlier this year.
The charity was concerned about levels of isolation and loneliness among older males and decided the answer was – a very large shed.
Now 50 Shedders potter happily in an industrial unit in Burners Lane, where they engage in woodwork, metal work and model making.
Others have expressed an interest in learning computing, photography and cooking, said Age UK Community Development Officer Paul Griffiths.
The Shed is open on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays. For more information call 01908 267126.
