RUNNERS who were all geared up to take part in the British Heart Foundation’s Santa Jog in December will be delighted to learn they can have another go on Sunday.
The annual event sees people dressed as Santa Claus running 4km, 8km or 12km around Willen Lake.
It was originally scheduled for December 5 but was cancelled because of health and safety reasons owing to the snow and icy conditions.
People from fitness group FitMK, who had a large number of its members taking part still turned up on the day and ran the course, treating it as a training run for the rescheduled event.
Now members of the nation’s leading heart charity are urging as many people as possible from Milton Keynes to don their Santa suits and running shoes for take two of the event starting at 11am this Sunday.
People are free to walk, jog or run off their Christmas excesses around any of the courses which will consist of one, two or three laps around the whole of Willen Lake.
Registration opens at 10am with a mass warm up scheduled for 10.45am. Santas will then eventually be released on the run at 11am.
The main aim of the day will be to have fun and raise sponsorship to help the BHF save lives.
Money raised by people on the day could really help the charity push on through 2011.
If you would like to join the red sea of Santas running round Willen Lake you can either turn up at 10am and register or contact the events team on 0808 100 2109.
