30 years of dedication will be celebrated with a 30-hour marathon broadcast, when Milton Keynes Hospital Radio reaches the landmark anniversary at the end of August.
Over 30 hours 23 volunteers will take part in the Live 30 event, kicking off with a show from the hospital foyer at 10am on Saturday, August 30,
From then the broadcasts will continue non-stop until 4pm the next day, including two live streamed events, the regular request show, volunteers slots, guest appearances from previous radio presenters, and a closing ceremony hosted at the Milton Keynes Museum.
The event will also help to keep the station on air, with local firms invited to sponsor slots on the broadcast for donations to the hospital radio.
Hospital radio chairman Phil Yates said: “To keep the radio station on the air costs approximately £3,000 a year; our fundraising events let us raise crucial funds whilst also getting a chance to present live with the patients.”
