The city’s first official strategy plan for the support of elderly residents has been launched by the new MK Clinical Commissioning Group.

The CCG’s Health and Wellbeing Board released the document this week and it will now go out to public consultation.

The strategy is aimed at older people with a range of support needs, ranging from those requiring social services care to those living independently.

It has been developed by city organisations involved with older people, including statutory and non statutory services, social care and health services and civil society organisations.

A CCG spokesman said: “The Older People’s Strategy will help all these organisations to make sure that their services are designed to deliver joined up care that meets the individual’s needs.

“The period of consultation is to allow everybody in Milton Keynes a chance to read this strategy document and to comment on it before it is implemented.”

The strategy covers housing needs, social isolation problems, health services, fitness, transport services and assistive technology
