Billed as the biggest re-enactment encampment in town, the History Festival at Milton Keynes Museum did not disappoint.

The popular event, held at the Wolverton based museum last weekend, gave visitors the chance to see a range of demonstrations from re-enactment specialists who brought historical periods including the Romans and the Jacobite Rebellion to life with realistic performances.

Visitors had the chance to get involved learning how to fight with spears and swords, as well as finding out how to weave baskets and make traditional food.

Enthusiasts also witnessed first hand how ancient handicrafts were made and took the opportunity to get hands-on alongside the enthusiasts.
