Hospice needs drivers and new befrienders

Volunteers are needed in a number of areas at Sue Ryder St Johns Hospice at Moggerhanger.

A spokeswoman said: “We are currently looking for volunteer drivers to assist patients and their families get to and from the hospice for appointments and visiting.

“We will pay expenses to the drivers by way of mileage costs for their journeys.”

Volunteer befrienders are also needed to support a new service that St Johns is offering to support patients in the community by visiting them on a regular basis in their own homes.

The charity will support these volunteers with all training requirements on an ongoing basis and cover the cost of travel by way of mileage costs.

Nearly new shop volunteers are needed to assist in the on site nearly new shop, sorting donations and helping in the shop assisting members of the public.
