STAFF and patients at Milton Keynes Hospital were evacuated today after a low oxygen alarm in the main outpatient department liquid nitrogen store was discovered at around 7am.

Because it was early the outpatients department was virtually empty but for a few of the staff.

The entire building was checked by the fire service and tests showed it was a false alarm. The department was reopened to patients around 10.20am.
