Hospital kids are all smiles after Xmas delivery

YOUNG patients of Milton Keynes Hospital were all smiles earlier this month after receiving Christmas presents from SNO!zone and Santa - topping off a series of charity events the indoor real snow slope has organised this December.

Christmas came early for the poorly young patients staying on Ward Five after SNO!zone Milton Keynes and Santa delivered gifts to the children to help cheer them up during their hospital stay.

Generous people from across the region donated toys and games to SNO!zone after they ran an appeal in November. Those who donated then got the chance to enjoy some free sledging on the slopes as a thank you.

Brendan McKenna, SNO!zone’s marketing and events leader, said: “The Christmas holidays can be very difficult for those spending time in hospital, even more so for children and their families, so we are really grateful for everyone that donated a gift.”

However, the season of goodwill didn’t stop there for the indoor snow slope where staff have also been busy raising money for Brooklands Community Centre and Disability Snowsport UK.

SNO!zone Milton Keynes has also been helping to raise funds for the elderly community centre in Newport and the disability snowsports charity by hosting festive fun days including giving children the chance to sledge on a specially-built snow slope outside ASDA Milton Keynes.

Brendan added: “We are committed to helping the local community and what better time to do this than during the season of goodwill.

“Our customers have been incredibly generous, allowing us to help a variety of local charities in the run up to the festive season.”
