A house in Westcroft was struck by lightning during this morning’s thunder storm.
Thousands of pounds of damage was caused to the four bedroomed detached house in Powis Lane.
Firefighters from Great Holm and Broughton were called shortly after 11.30am by neighbours who heard a loud bang and saw a flash of blue as the lightning struck the roof.
One occupant escaped without injury.
The force of the blow dislodged tiles and burst a water pipe, which caused flooding throughout. Electrical items were also damaged.
