More than 250 jobs will be created this Christmas at intu Milton Keynes.
As the drive for part-time festive staff begins this week, Debenhams leads the way with 75 to be filled in departments including men’s, women’s, fragrance and gifts.
Several of its concessions will also be taking on part time roles such as Mac, Benefit and Urban Decay.
Miss Selfridge, Topshop and Topman are the next largest of the recruiters with 30 jobs open while Superdry alone will take on 15 positions to help with the Christmas rush.
Fashion is one of the big sellers over the festive period, shoe shops will also see a dramatic rise in demand, with retailers schuh, Office, Footlocker and Dune needing over 30 additional staff for Christmas.
Hugo Boss, Karen Millen, Levi’s, New Look, Timberland, Oasis and Waterstone’s are also starting their recruiting plans plus kid’s favourite Lego joins the jobs drive.
Restaurants and coffee shops are also taking on extra staff and the message from intu Milton Keynes’s general manager, Shelley Peppard is “print off a load of CVs and get out there if you want to join the buzz of Christmas and earn extra cash.
“This is a prime time for anyone looking for an additional source of income or perhaps work for students returning from their university. Christmas is the busiest time of the year for intu Milton Keynes and the number of jobs being created is a good sign that we’re expecting a bumper year to end 2015.”
