MP for Milton Keynes South Iain Stewart has pledged his support for carers in the city.
Mr Stewart was speaking ahead of Carer’s Week, which starts on Monday, June 18.
The Conservative MP visited carers at Frosts Garden Centre last week for a garden workshop – one of a number of social events organised by charity Carers Milton Keynes for unpaid carers in the city.
Mr Stewart said: “We could never place a price on all the work that carers do. I enjoyed spending time with them and listening to their experiences. They play a valuable role and I pay tribute to them as we celebrate Carers’ Week.”
Chief Executive of Carers Milton Keynes, Stephen Archibald, added: “Carers have one of the hardest jobs and need our support; this gardening workshop is one of the ways we help to ensure that carers have a life outside their caring role.”
