An event recognising outstanding women in Milton Keynes will launch today to celebrate the valuable contribution women make to the workplace and education.

The Women Leaders MK Awards are being led by Jan Flawn CBE, who was a previous winner of the First Woman of Business Services Award in 2013.

The awards ceremony will be held on November 20, but before that Jan will speak at Milton Keynes College, where she will be joined by successful female guest speakers such as Phoebe Claydon, Engineer at Nissan and Jocelyn Whittaker-Smith, Project Manager at VINCI Construction and college principal Dr Julie Mills.

Today’s event follows International Women’s Day yesterday - the annual day of recognition dedicated to celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future.

Attend from 2-4pm today in CH1, Chaffron Way campus for a celebration of the valuable contribution women make every day to the workplace and to education.
