MK Hospital fundraising officer Jenny Howells is set for a roarsome time next month - when she spends a day as a lion keeper at Woburn Safari Park.
Jenny will be fundraising as she goes, and hopes to make £1000 in aid of the Leo’s Appeal for the hospital’s children’s ward.
“I’m very excited to be working with the lions for the day,” Jenny said.
“It’s not going to be easy as it’s intense work - and I’m sure they won’t be as friendly as our charity mascot Leo!
“However, working in the hospital I can see first-hand the difference this money will make to our youngest patients and their families.”
Leo’s Appeal will redevelop ward areas and allow enhanced facilities for parents. In all, the appeal needs £200,000 to become a reality.
“More than 36,000 children are seen by our staff every year - so the impact will be huge,” Jenny added.
“We are so lucky to have this much support as we do and I wanted to be able to do something too.”
