John Lewis shoppers evacuated from Milton Keynes store

Shoppers were evacuated from the John Lewis store in thecentre:mk today after claims of a “security breach”.

Calls made to the Citizen described how the public were told to leave the shop immediately after its security alarm began to go off at around 12pm today.

“The staff said there had been some sort of security breach and that we needed to get out of the shop,” one said.

“Then all of a sudden the shutters came down.”

A spokesman for the retail giant revealed that the alarm was triggered off “accidentally” by someone working for thecentre:mk.

The store has now re-opened.
