Olney-based company Golden Frog Public Relations was delighted to be given the opportunity to represent singer-songwriter Jonathan Whiskerd when he agreed to perform in the town.
On Tuesday, July 17, Jonathan performed to both the Chamber of Trade’s lunch at the Swan Inn, and then later at a hugely successful evening event at the Courtyard Brasserie, Rose Court.
Jonathan’s passion shone through at the events, and he captivated both audiences. He is hugely enthusiastic about songwriting and writes all his own material, which is based on personal and shared experiences.
Signed to an independent UK label but with US management, Jonathan and his band recently launched their first EP at Bush Hall in London to great acclaim.
In August, Jonathan is setting of to the US to make his first album in Austin, Texas with Producer Bruce Hughes. Prior to that, he is doing a tour of mini-gigs for fans and friends around the country, which fortunately included the two performances in Olney.
Sarah Blenkinsop, Managing Director of Golden Frog, said: “I was so excited to host Jonathan’s performances. It was fabulous for local friends and contacts to embark on this exciting journey with us, as we promote Jonathan and hopefully see him go from strength to strength in this competitive industry.”
Jonathan has been making music for ten years, has worked for music charity ‘The Musicians Benevolent Fund’ and teaches songwriting and music. All profits from ticket sales on the evening were donated to Willen Hospice.
