Kili climbers raise £8,000 for Willen Hospice

Adrenaline addicts from a city opticians have pushed themselves to the physical limit by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro for Willen Hospice.

Ms Baljit Kaur and Mr John Singh, from Specsavers Silbury Arcade, started their epic journey on October 11 last year, raising £8,000 by fundraising throughout 2012. They recently presented the impressive cheque to the Willen Hospice.

Store director Ms Kaur said: “The climb was one of the most demanding and exhausting things we have ever done but we have really enjoyed the challenge of raising money for such a worthwhile charity. We are extremely grateful for all the support that helped us raise such a large amount.”
