Milton Keynes is preparing to welcome top politician Ed Miliband tomorrow as he visits the city’s Open University to talk about the living wage.
The Labour leader will also stop by in Great Holm to have a discussion with residents about affordable housing, the cost of rent in Milton Keynes and how people are getting on the property ladder.
Today, Mr Miliband came under criticism after he under-estimated the cost of his family’s weekly shopping bill while addressing the UK’s cost-of-living crisis with plans to tackle low pay.
The politician’s visit comes the day before the Milton Keynes elections as a record number of 240 candidates jostle for the 57 council seats.
Milton Keynes North MP, Mark Lancaster, took to Twitter to reveal his thoughts on Mr Miliband’s upcoming appearance in the city.
He said: “Looking forward to Welcoming Ed Miliband to MK tomorrow, hopefully he’s been briefed as to the name of his candidates after his fiasco today!”
