Local derby for rival DIY stores

Staff from two rival DIY stores in Milton Keynes went head-to-head on the football pitch for charity.

Staff from Wickes took on a team from B&Q in a local derby that promised some action from the spectators who turned up to watch.

The match was played at Newport Pagnell Town FC and their was a fantastic turnout from colleagues, management, family and friends from both Wickes and B&Q.

The game on Sunday, April 24 was played in aid of a number of charities chosen by staff.

All proceeds from Wickes will be going to support Alzheimer’s Research UK, and the store ran fundraising events in the run-up to the day so customers could get involved.

And the score? Wickes won 9-0.
