Young dancers have been floored by a £10,000 investment, after the Arts1 School of Performance splashed out on professional sprung dance floors at its fresh new facility The Box Studios in Linford Wood.
Staff at the state-of-the-art facility ensured that each of its studios are industry standard, including specialist floors and mirrors, by hosting an array of fundraising events to ensure that the not-for profit school could provide these facilities for its students.
Rebecca Carrington, principal and co-founder of Arts1, said: “Installing sprung floors in our new studios was essential, as myself and the rest of the team fully understand the implications of dancers training on floors which are not fit for purpose. It was never an option to settle for anything less, even though it is a huge investment.
“We used a company who have extensive experience in laying these type of floors and who have supplied and fitted the same dance floors at Laine Theatre Arts and the Performance Preparation Academy in Surrey - schools which are both industry leaders and have the highest standards when it comes to dance and performance training. We are very excited to be able to provide these standards in Milton Keynes.”
