Children in Milton Keynes are to benefit from a £4,200 fund to help them play.
Charity the MK Community Foundation is funding play day sessions for 250 local children as part of the nationwide Eat Sleep Play Love campaign. These will include games and play stations each week, including face-painting, sports, arts and crafts, bouncy castles, treasure huts and den building.
Sessions will take place on the pavilion field in Broughton, with more details to follow on the MK Play Association Facebook page www.facebook.com/mkpaplay?fref=ts&rf=463664243651573
Danielle Porteous, director of development at the MK Community Foundation, said: “In the past children would have roamed for miles with friends. Today children are locked into our most deprived estates due to busy grid roads and dark underpasses, with no opportunity to escape from the influences of poverty.
“Organisations like the Play Association help children integrate with the community and link families in need with agencies that can support them out of poverty.”
