Australian man who has been missing for 16 years is found in Milton Keynes homeless shelter

An Australian aboriginal man who went missing 16 years ago has been found living in a homeless hostel in Milton Keynes.

Jason Ronald Douglas was found alive and well in the homeless shelter yesterday.

It is believed the 36-year-old had spent some time sleeping rough.

Now his family and friends are desperately trying to raise money for tickets and a passport to fly him back home.

His sister Lisa Andrews said: “He has been homeless for a very long time. This is why it has taken us so long to find him.

“He thought we all gave up on him. He thought no one cared.”

Lisa said Jason was “desperate” to get home to his mother and family in Australia.

”It is very costly as we need a birth certificate, passport, then flights. Plus we need to try and support him and keep him off the streets until we can get everything organised to get him home,” she said.

Jason was only 21 when he went missing in the year 2000. At the time he had been living in Tinkers Bridge.

His family have now set up a fundraising page on https://www.gofundme.com/jmn2ayjd
