He may have lost out on a place in the final of Britain’s Got Talent, but our Bailey McConnell is already laying the foundations to give 2014 the X Factor.
That’s because he’s already released his very own music video of the song he wrote about his experience on the ITV talent show, Now or Never.
Despite Collabro being crowned the winners of Saturday night’s show, Now or Never, which was filmed at The Granary, had 13,000 hits just 24 hours after appearing on YouTube.
Backed by his loyal fans, #TeamBailey showed support to their favourite singersongwriter from Crownhill, with the YouTube hits reaching 26,590 as it stands.
But Bailey was actually 13 years old when he penned his first song, Memories, and signed a management deal with RGS Music Group based in the city.
“We have been working with Bailey for just about a year now,” said director Dom Rampello.
“When we first met Bailey, we were overcome by his talent of songwriting and the unbelievable tone in his voice.
“BGT was never part of the plan for Bailey; we were working with him, developing the performance, recording, songwriting and all areas of his talent and building quite a little fanbase on the way.
“BGT has escalated that big time, and although Bailey didn’t get to the final, he has become somewhat of a ‘people’s champ’ and thats what we wanted for Bailey – to be known for his voice and songwriting ability not Bailey McConnell from BGT.”
The Citizen approached Simon Cowell’s record label Syco to quiz about the potential signing of the 15-year-old, but they were unable to reveal if the music mogul would seal the deal.
Dom added: “Bailey is an exquisite talent and will make a big impact. Next step is to secure a recording label for him.
“Watch this space.”
