Smiley souls from Santander are proving that getting out of the workplace and helping local school children is a super initiative.
Staff and pupils at Husborne Crawley Lower School were left astounded by the number of tasks the team of 27 volunteers from Santander Bank in Milton Keynes completed when they spent a day working to improve the school’s environment.
Headteacher Sue Isaacs said: “We are so thankful. Indoors we now have a freshly painted music room, where the children can have their music lessons without interruption.
“Outside, the play train was repainted in jolly, bright colours, as was the fencing surrounding the playground.”
The garden area has been accessorised with musical chimes and a storytelling chair and the team even tackled replacing the lining of the large pond, donning waders to empty the muddy pond.
Added Sue: “Even this really nasty job was completed with a smile and children can now enjoy pond-dipping with our Wildlife Club.
“A very big thank you to the team.”
