Bletchley pub undergoes major transformation after large cash injection

A Bletchley pub is currently closed whilst it undergoes a major transformation to improve the overall look and feel of the pub.

The Eight Belles, on Buckingham Road, is having a substantial cash injection by the new leaseholders and owners Punch Tavern to refurbish the pub throughout with new décor and facilities.

As a result of the investment, eight jobs will be created.

New licensees, Tony Kelly and Daniel Barr who have financial services and restaurant and retail backgrounds, are excited about the refurbishment.

Tony said: “There will be major work conducted throughout the whole pub”.

“The plans look fantastic; we will be offering the community something different, bringing back to fore the strong heritage the community has and a range of facilities to suit all.

“I look forward to seeing the end result.”

Punch Taverns’ Partnership Development Manager, Julian Searle, is also looking forward to the new look pub: “It’s great that Punch can invest in their pubs and we essentially want to reposition the Eight Belles as one of the leading pubs that can provide great drinks and quality dining for residents in Bletchley and the surrounding areas.”

The Coachmakers Arms, in Newport Pagnell is closing at the end of August after being given the same cash injection.

It will be refurbished throughout with new décor and facilities, which will mean six new jobs will be created.

Patricia and Jonathan Smith, are excited about the refurbishment: “There will be major work conducted throughout the whole pub.

“The plans look fantastic; we will be offering the community something different, family friendly, and a range of facilities to suit all. I look forward to seeing the end result.”
