Blind tot’s fund is one third complete

editorial image

THE Citizen-backed fund to help blind toddler Brooke Chilton to see again reached one third of its target this week.

Generous readers have donated thousands of pounds since we revealed Brooke’s plight several weeks ago.

Now the fund stands at more than £14,000, said Brooke’s grandmother Dee Turner.

The family has vowed to raise £50,000 to send Brooke to China for revolutionary stem cell treatment to ‘grow’ her stunted optic nerves.

It will give the two year old, who was born with no vision at all, a reasonable chance of seeing enough to live a normal life.

“We cannot thank everybody enough for their donations,” said Dee. “Brooke understands what people are doing for her and she wants to say a special thank you.”

Donations can be made online at http://www.gofundme.com/zy0do, or cheques made out to Brooke Chilton can be sent to the Citizen.
